David Fox – Martial Artist, Mentor, and Parkinson’s Advocate
David Fox is a lifelong martial artist, 5th Dan Shotokan karate instructor, and respected community mentor whose journey spans from Bondi to the regional Central Coast, where he now resides.
A former national competitor and Australian representative, David has earned respect across multiple martial arts styles for his discipline, adaptability, and compassion as a teacher.
Diagnosed with Parkinson’s nearly 15 years ago, he continues to defy expectations — overcoming stigma, misdiagnosis, and even a life-threatening brain haemorrhage. He continues to teach, train, write, and inspire others through his example.
David is also the author of The Way of the Pigeon — a reflection on quiet strength, survival, and the wisdom found in life’s simplest moments.
His story is one of courage, contribution, and the kind of leadership that leaves a lasting mark on all who meet him.
